The Process

From First Call to First Policy

Call Joe

A quick 20-minute conversation — no pitch, no pressure. Joe will answer your questions honestly and tell you exactly what to expect. If it's a fit, we move forward. If it's not, he'll tell you that too.

Get Licensed

If you're not yet licensed, we'll guide you through the Life & Health exam process. Most candidates complete it within 2–4 weeks. We recommend the resources, you set the pace.

Get Contracted with Carriers

Once licensed, we get you appointed through our carrier portfolio — 50+ options including leading names in final expense, mortgage protection, IUL, and term life. More carriers = more clients you can serve.

Train & Write Your First Policy

We walk you through the sales process, the lead system, and the tools. You shadow a few calls, then run your own with backup available. Most new agents write their first policy within their first two weeks.

Build Your Team (Optional)

If you want to recruit and build your own agency under the SLG umbrella, you can. Recruiting opens an additional income stream on top of your personal production. Completely optional — many top producers never recruit and do exceptionally well.

Working 20–25 hours per week, focusing on learning the products and building your lead pipeline. Achievable in year one for consistent agents.

Full-Time Production

40 hours per week, working a full lead system, closing consistently. This is the median range for full-time agents who follow the process through their second year.

Agency Builder

Agents who combine personal production with a small recruited team. Residuals compound, and your income works for you even when you're off the clock.

We'd rather be upfront. This is commission-only, independent contractor work. There is no base salary. The first 90 days require effort before income becomes consistent. You'll hear no. You'll have slow weeks.
